An ongoing series I’ve started in 2018 to current, combining the elements of line, shape & color to the mediums I work in. As a fine artist, I like to work in many different mediums, all in which give the same style of the artist. I think it’s important for artist to be consistent in their work and develop a similar flare to every practice, making the different mediums relate together. I’m constantly playing back and forth with the same concepts in my paintings and ceramics. Creating pieces with texture and abstraction, while being well-rounded with the materials and tools is also important to me. Art is a way for me to manage with reality, it may be personal. It’s a focus in my mind that nothing else matters, only the medium and how that medium can stretch, mold and transform into something exquisite, all starting out with an idea. Presented are works in the mediums: ceramic, porcelain, mixed media (collage) and oil paint.

Starting in 2018, my focus was a shift to clay, and creating these projects, where black and white complementary was involved. Creating multiple pairs, where they complement, balance and contrast each other. I use line and detail quite frequently in my paintings, so I wanted that to relate to the ceramics.

Creating with my mind and using my hands is a gift that I have. When I paint, I paint to capture a moment of feeling and emotion. Through unity of shapes and form, my sculpture captures the continuous idea that something is always evolving and transforming. My goal is to make pieces that are timeless and simply beautiful.
